What to do During Lockdown?

About a year ago, even the thought of staying locked in our own homes would have been infuriating, laughable and annoying. After all who would deliberately stay at home except introverts? But the change the time has brought has made it essential that we stay at home.

Throughout India, every state is in different lockdown due to covid-19. We always used to say that if only we can get some time out of our hectic lives, we would do something new and creative. Well, God heard us and now many of us have plenty of time during the lockdown. And now everyone is done binge-watching Netflix and endlessly scrolling Instagram. Everyone wants to be productive and do something new and fun but what?

Here’s a list of 10 productive, fun, creative, and time-utilizing things to do during lockdown at home.

So, yeah books have a vast variety you can choose and learn from.

Write a Novel

“You are a writer the moment you start writing, not when you’ve sold your first book.”, says Rob Bignell, an author. They say everybody has a writer in them, so, why not stop being lazy, pick up a pen and pad and let your creative juices flowing.

Learn a New Language

Being able to talk to a language other than your native language is always cool. And well wouldn’t it be great to watch Netflix without subtitles once in a while? LOL, just kidding. What really great is whatever you learn in your life is always helpful and would come in handy one day. And there are many languages to pick from too.

There are various YouTube tutorials available for that.

Listen to a Podcast

Whether it is to get all the updates of what’s going on around the globe, socially, economically, politically, covid situation or maybe information about cricket or just some stories or jokes, or information about stocks, podcasts have it all covered. There are podcasts about every possible topic that can be thought of. So, again you can choose from various options. You can gain knowledge as well as kill some time with podcasts.

Update Your CV and Professional Profiles

Before the lockdown with all the office work and house chores, the task of updating your CV or professional accounts like LinkedIn would be very low on your priority list. But now that you have extra time, why procrastinate? Get up, pick your laptop and give your professional documents a makeover.

Learn to Play a Musical Instrument

Many people wish that they could play some type of musical instrument but don’t get time to learn. Now with free time available, it has become easy to devote some time to learn this art. Apps like Udemy and Future Learn provides a wide range of online courses for musical instruments such as,

Start Exercise, Yoga and Meditation

learn yoga

People try to keep themselves fit while maintaining balance with work but sometimes it gets hard to keep the balance and since you can’t slack off on work, it’s the exercising part that gets sacrificed. But now since work from home has provided a little extra time due to the cut in traveling time, you don’t have to give up on exercising.

Hopefully, this will help you and you will find your favorite new thing to do. Now on a different note, stay at home and if you have to go outside, wear a mask in fact double masks because of the new variants of covid.

Avoid few things and stay positive

  • Excess social media, their fake news
  • Live News debates and negative news
  • Keep yourself happy and positive

We wish you a happy and safe time,  Stay home and Stay safe.
